Extended route via GIsors and cycleway to the Seine - some tips from Chris Smith

We wanted to extend the journey a little, so we went due south to take the voie vert from Gisors to Gasny and then cut across the Vexin regional park.  The voie vert www.voiesvertes.com/htm/detaille27giga1.htm    is even more pretty than the avenue vert from Dieppe, especially in the middle.  The Vexin Park is also very beautiful in part, but hilly. Some routes are suggested in the IGN Ile doe France a velo map.  This route also enables a visit to Monet’s garden at Giverny.  You might want to consider this as an alternative route.  There are hotels and la Roche Goyon and Meulan

In this context the rather fearsome hill between Gasny and la Roche Guyon, which is not suggested on the map, should be noted.  A diversion via Giverny and Bennecourt would avoid this.  We stayed at the Hotel les Bords du Seine at Roche Guyon.  The hotel business takes second place to the very popular resteraunt side of the business, but they had a garage for the bikes and the situation is wonderful, in a beautiful village right on the promenade on the banks of the Seine.
